Vacuum-Assisted Breast Biopsy (VABB)
Commonly known as the Mammotome procedure,
VABB (Vacuum-Assisted Breast Biopsy) allows for both biopsy and tumor removal with a single needle insertion.
It provides enough tissue for accurate diagnosis and detailed histological analysis.
Benefits of the Mammotome Procedure
Short procedure time (under 30 minutes)
Biopsy and removal performed simultaneously
Minimal scarring and pain
Quick recovery and return to daily life
Mammotome Procedure Steps
01
After anesthesia, a needle is inserted near the lesion in the breast.
02
Vacuum suction pulls the tissue into the needle’s sampling chamber.
03
Once inside, the tissue is cut with a rotating blade.
04
The tissue is extracted from the breast.
